The game starts with 1 blank Game Board, 5 identical Playing
Pieces, and 5 Players.
1 player waits outside while the 4 remaining players “Construct”
a set of tactical and strategic Objectives, and a set of Rules to govern them,
such that the intent and structure of the finished game is not necessarily obvious
to the 5th player.
The 5th Player is invited to join the 4
Constructors, and without explanation the game begins.
If the 5th player should break a Rule, the game
ends and the 5th Player becomes “First” in the game.
There is no penalty, and the game continues without
interruption if one of the 4 “Constructors” breaks a rule in the game that they
helped to Construct.
However, if one of the Constructors communicates a rule to
the 5th player, either by action or word, intentionally or
unintentionally, such that the 5th Player is able to state the Rule
accurately and point out the Constructor who communicated the Rule, the 5th
Player must properly Break the Rule during game play, and if “Caught” by one of
the 4 Constructors, the 5th Player may identify the Constructor who
communicated the Rule, and may also accurately recite the Rule.
Constructors are not obligated to Catch the 5th Player
if they break a Rule.
However, if the 5th Player is Caught, they are required
to recite “The Rule” and they are required to Identify a Constructor from whom
they seemingly learned the Rule. The 5th
Player is not obligated to accurately Identify the Constructor from whom they
“Learned” the Rule, nor are they obligated to accurately Recite the Rule.
Constructors are not obligated to Validate the Recitation of
the “broken” Rule, nor are they required to Validate the Identification made by
the 5th Player, but there must be a 3 Player Quorum among the 4
Constructors. If Quorum is not sustained,
then there will be a Default Catch of the 5th Player.
If the 5th player completes the Game without
being Caught, they take over the “Last Place” position in the overall Game rankings. The
Game Series continues as one of the immediately previous 4 Constructors assumes
the role of 5th Player, and goes outside to wait.
There are 5 rounds of the game, and the Player in “Last
Place” after 5 rounds is the overall Winner.
*******************************************************
In this game there is nothing but a sequence of Contexts,
defined by the rules created by the Constructors, but never formally
communicated to the 5th Player.
If the 5th Player is able to empirically discern correctly
the Context, they become empowered to decide whether they would like to Win or
Lose the game as they continue on with game play. Players who are never able to discern the Context
may end up inadvertently Winning or Losing, but the choice will not be theirs
to make.
It is assumed that very rarely would the Players agree with
one another regarding the true Definition of the Game Context
